These are the programs supported by the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Atlanta. To find out more about any of them, contact us by clicking here.
Annual Spring Retreat
Each year the ECW Board sponsors a retreat (the first weekend in May) at Camp Mikell, our Diocesan camp and conference center located in Toccoa, Georgia. The weekend includes a spiritually enriching program led by special guest speakers, singing, worship, and lots of wonderful fellowship with women from throughout the Diocese.
The program begins on Friday evening and ends after Sunday lunch.
The Dogwood Diary
This is the newsletter of the Diocesan ECW, and it is published twice a year. It is sent to ECW presidents, parish priests and interested women. Read archives here.
Information about parish programs, fundraisers and outreach projects are welcomed and needed. If you would like to contribute an article, please contact one of the ECW board members listed on the Home page of this site.
The Diocesan Quilt
Plans to make a quilt for the Diocese of Atlanta were begun by the ECW board in 1995.
From 1996-1999, women throughout the diocese and members of the board lovingly created each of the unique squares representing the parishes of the diocese and women's organizations.
The quilt was assembled by Jennie Priven of St. Clare's in Blairsville, GA and was presented for the first time at the Annual Meeting of the Episcopal Church Women on October 19, 2002.
The quilt measures 100 inches wide by 92 inches long. There are 100 completed squares and 10 empty squares available for new parishes and other organizations in the diocese.
Please contact a board member if you are interested in displaying it at your parish.
The Annual Meeting of the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Atlanta is usually held during October at various churches in the diocese.
The day begins with Holy Eucharist and the Diocesan United Thank Offering Ingathering. A short business meeting follows where yearly reports are given and women are elected to various board positions. Following lunch, a program and/or guest speaker concludes the day's events.
Parishes are encouraged to send at least two representatives to this meeting.
The beautiful sterling silver cross with a dogwood blossom superimposed over it was designed exclusively for us by James Avery and can be purchased only from the ECW Diocesan Board.
This unique cross may be purchased as a pendant or as a pendant/pin. Proceeds from the sale of the crosses support various programs sponsored by the ECW Board.
Crosses may be ordered from the ECW Treasurer (see Leadershihp on the Home page).
Our diocesan prayer partner is selected from women in full-time religious life.
We support our Prayer Partner with prayers and a yearly budgeted contribution. A board member is assigned to correspond with her.
